Medical Mission
Since 2005, CVII has
held various medical missions serving our children, their parents,
and several poor areas around the city. We never know what
diseases, illnesses, infections, injuries, or other serious medical
conditions we will come across, but we are always willing to help.
In 2007, we held our
first Optical Mission. In four days, our volunteers were able
to attend over 700 people and provide over 400 of them with glasses.
Many of the poor and homeless who came to the mission had never had
their eyes tested before! It is amazing to watch someone be
able to see clearly for the first time in his/her life.
Volunteer doctors,
nurses, and other medical personnel have provided care for thousands
of people and have helped to improve their daily lives with
medication, supplements, wound care, and much more. Thank you
to all of those who have come to help and serve in such a marvelous
way!
Feeding Program
We provide nutritious
meals three times a day to the children who live at our homes and
lunch and healthy snacks to our external students who attend our
school. We serve over 21,000 meals every year!
Donations
Clothes, toys, food,
blankets, shoes, mattresses, etc are given daily to people in need.
Donations and support
are given to victims in need of humanitarian aid.
Volunteers and Teams
Teams from around the
world come to serve at CVII. Teams assist with the various
programs CVII offers, maintenance, construction, and other needed
tasks. Long-term volunteers (three or more months) serve in
all areas.
Global Outreach
A vision that started
with three women wanting to help children has seen, with teamwork,
a growth into a large ministry that is reaching beyond Colombia.
We have sent out donations of clothes, school supplies, medical
supplies, etc. to other areas of the world including India,
Jamaica, Mexico, Honduras, Guatemala, Romania, Russia, Poland,
Africa, Vietnam, Cambodia, and the Dominican Republic. In
the United States, we have made donations to people in the
Appalachian Mountains and to the Indian Reservations in Montana
and Minnesota with winter coats, mittens, hats, and boots.
We will donate to
anyone in need in our own area and with teams going out on mission
trips.
